Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Daily Byte ("we", "us", "the app") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service.
Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, depending on your provider settings, your name and email address. We do not offer email/password sign-in and never receive your provider password.
Content you create
The topics you add, your stated experience level, goals, chosen language, delivery time, and any follow-up chat messages. This is used to generate and personalize your daily insights.
Usage & device data
Basic technical data such as device type, operating system version, app version, timezone, and a push notification token (if you enable notifications). We may log errors and aggregate usage to keep the app reliable.
Subscription data
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google and our payments provider, RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status and plan, but we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
How we use your information
- To generate your daily insights, calibrated to your topics and level.
- To power follow-up chat and keep a per-topic history for you.
- To send push notifications you've opted into.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.
- To manage subscriptions and enforce plan limits.
AI processing
Daily Byte uses a large language model to generate insights and chat replies. Your topic, experience level, goal, and relevant prior insights are sent to our AI provider to produce this content. We do not use your personal content to train third-party models beyond what is necessary to return your response.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the app, including:
- Our hosting infrastructure (self-managed servers).
- Our AI/LLM provider, to generate insights and chat replies.
- Apple and Google, for sign-in, push delivery, and billing.
- RevenueCat, for subscription management.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Data retention
We keep your account data and insight history for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see below), after which we remove your personal data, subject to any legal obligations to retain limited records.
Your rights & choices
- Turn notifications on or off per topic and account-wide in Settings.
- Edit or delete your topics at any time.
- Request a copy of your data or its deletion by emailing us.
To delete your account and data, email support@dailybyte.app from your account address.
Children
Daily Byte is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, in-app notice.
